Head of Elk, Maryland, and the American Revolutionary War

The purpose of this timeline is to summarize, chronologically, references that were made to Head of Elk and Cæcil County in various historical sources, most notably, the correspondence of George Washington, and the History of Cecil County, by Johnston (1881). Given the limited geographic scope of this timeline, and also the fact that this outline does not comprise an exhaustive review of the literature, readers are advised to consult additional sources, to acquire a fuller understanding of these events, whether within Cæcil County or in the broader context of the Revolutionary War.
